ABOUT 2012
The festival takes place over three days, spread across the queen’s birthday long-weekend, from Friday 8th – Sunday 11th June, 2012. The queen’s birthday long weekend celebrates australia’s compliance with commonwealth. This is the perfect moment to discuss and talk back to the colonial forces in our lives.
As the do-it-yourself ethic suggests, DECOLONISE 2012 will take place in alternative/artist run, all-ages spaces around sydney’s Petersham and Marrickville precincts.
We will provide workshops so the festival community can empower itself by sharing experiences, learning hands-on skills, and networking with like minded people from all over oz, nz and the globe…
There will also be a festival Reader/Zine featuring relevant information, maps, community ads and theoretical writings.
