Thanks to everyone who helped organise, everyone who played, everyone who attended and everyone from the venues. The whole weekend went off spectacularly, save for a bit of rain which was quite okay with everyone! Anxiety gradually gave way to relief and eventually jubilation at what took place given the circumstances. Channels of communication have opened and are likely to chatter all the way to Decolonise 2010.

Sunday 25/1:
- Zine Fair/Market: 1pm! Trade things and eat cakes!!!
- A discussion on the politics of gentrification with the Mutiny collective. Is it inevitable? How does it change our neighbourhoods? What is our part in the process? What responses to it are there? With a particular focus on Redfern
- Is ‘Doing It Yourself’, really doing anything at all? A discussion about the politics of DIY and whether it relates to other radical traditions of struggle or is just an excuse for white, middle-class punks to feel good about themselves. Let’s make this controversial!
- Screening of ‘Babakueria (BBQ Area)’: “A mock-documentary, reversing the white/black roles in the European takeover of Australia; as the Aboriginal colonisers arrive and “conquer”, then marginalise, the indigenous white inhabitants. It is hysterical, frightening and thought-provoking.”

Decolonise Summer Festival will take place in Sydney, Jan 23-26. The festival is a precarious celebration of precious DIY venues. We are a cluster of warehouses and shopfronts serving independent music and arts. Pubs, clubs and theatres can get stuffed!
The weekend is imminent and we are gaining speed on it. Currently we can announce:
